What's the story (Morning Glory)?

Well, here's the thing. Mamúa's pretty much perfected modern-end La Latina in cafe-bar form.
And things happen when you're sat in a window seat in this part of town, people watching. Dozens of dogs in jolly jumpers wander by. Unlucky little lasses topple over and need a helping hand to wipe away tears. And a bloke ambles by not merely dressed like Liam and haired like Liam but swaggering like Liam. I swear. He was walking in a Manchistuh! accent. Would you wander Madrid cosplaying East Didsbury's finest parka-wearer? That's definitely a maybe.
And that brief cameo from that Gallagher doppelganger has us in the mood for a melody. So, when you're ready, aahr kid. Two, three, foh:

Today is gonna be the day
That they're gonna serve latte to you
By now you should've somehow
Realized what your coffee's gotta do

It needs to be smooth, tasty ,with fresh beanage and ideally no need for sugar. That works best if your dairy content is up to snuff. In short, (Vegan and the lactose intolerant of course excepted);

I believe almost everybody
Enjoys fresh milk the way we do - from a cow

HK, leader of today's expeditionary mission, took charge. Fresh it was. Only one size was available, which was odd as the menu clearly had a "Latte Grande" on it. Whatever. Good coffee though. It wasn't long before a few more hounds and terriers had scampered by outside and it was time to test the sweet temptations.

Backbeat, there's a beagle on the street
And the carrot cake is coming out
I'm sure you've heard it all before
And we never really had a doubt

But, HK needed a vital question answering. Was the CC homemade? Sent to parlay with the staff, a jolly friendly fellow (see Google photos) proudly explained to me, that, yes, it was the real deal.

I can believe almost everybody
Feels the way we do about cake naaaaooow

And when it comes to having your cake, scoffing it and then telling it like it is, it now falls to HK, like a Champagne Supernova, to impart wise words.
Moist, orange-zesty, pleasing distribution of cream cheese. Definitely homemade. A contender.
So, there we are. A major discovery. Not just a top tasty carrot cake, but one that does a Brando impression.

Things were quiet at 1215, but busied up over the next hour (aided by the trendy food-blogging cats hogging the window seats, we reckoned). Laptops were out, checked shirts were chatting at the counter; beards were thin on the ground, but thicker around the bar. Service was friendly from the kitchen, but a rather morose young server looked like he was missing his playstation.

And all the roads of Latina maybe winding,
But Mamúa's lights aren't exactly blinding

It is indeed a tad murky, tbh. Well, for some I guess it might be nicely intimate. It depends when you're in and who you're with. This was proven nearby as a happy couple needed all the brunch they could get their hands on, between bouts of putting them all over each other. Some might say the decor is extremely 2018. Very brown wood, determinedly exposed brick and an immensely blue coffee machine. The ceiling - and a wall - are match-painted a shade probably called Salty Marine, Coral Sneeze or Tropical Sea Level Rise.

STOP PRESS: I just popped over to Dulux and, hold your seahorses, I reckon it's Tension Teal (early 90s indie band, surely?) or Proud Peacock (No, let's not.).

There are many snacks that I would like to try to do,
But I don't know how

The menu has some depth; chunky ham or avocado toast, amongst others; a smallish range of pizzas (with a 50c surcharge for gluten free). We think they do soup, athough have no idea if you get a roll with it.

But Mamúa, we're glad we got a chance to try ya
And after all, Greeny blue could be your wonderwall.

So a worthwhile visit, and success should beckon. Like high flying birds, we'll keep a beady eye on this potential coffee fans' oasis.
